Why teach chess?
chessTeam2012_4Congratulations to the 2012 Pillager Rooks of Wrath Chess team!  They received the top team award at the annual Brainerd Youth Chess Tournament on March 10th.  And our 4th-6th grade team received the first place trophy at the 15th annual Pillager Rooks of Wrath Chess Tournament on March 31st.

    The library is open from 7:45am until 3:45pm Monday through Friday.

Mr. Mark Sandin
Mr. Sandin graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1991. After five years of teaching elementary classes at a private school in the Middle East, he joined the Pillager staff in 1996. He enjoys learning, reading, racing, kneeboarding, skiing, playing chess, and spending time with friends and family.
