7th Grade Industrial Tech Syllabus
Course Description:
Students will be exposed to basic hand tools and their operation. Students will also be given a chance to operate four major power tools: the drill press, scroll saw, band saw, and stationary sander. Each student shall build a small wood project. There will be a small cost for materials of about $8-$10. If time permits, students will be exposed to learning about basic electricity.

Construction Trades Syllabus
Course Description: Students will learn how to build a house from the ground up. The class will be broken into the following units: blueprint reading, framing, insulation, sheet rock, painting and trimming, and siding. Students will be outside building on the house about 95% of the class time.

Welding and Metals Syllabus
Course Description:
Students will learn how to operate welding equipment such as oxyacetylene welders, are welders, and wire feed welders. Students will completed about 30 different types of sample welds.

Woods Syllabus
Course Description:
This course will include a broad experience such as a wood working project like a small shelf or a small clock, and a construction project such as a model house or small doghouse. Students will learn how to operate power tools and learn related construction techniques involved in the building field and cabinet making field. This course will require a lab fee for projects. This course is an ideal introduction to woods class.

This is my 5th year as the Industrial Tech teacher at Pillager. I also have 16 years of experience in other schools. During the past nine years, I have built nine homes with students.
I attended college at the University of Minnesota. I am married with three children. We live near Little Falls on our hobby farms.
